Wellbeing at Redbridge Lakes CIC

Our Mission:

To improve mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing by connecting people of all ages and backgrounds with nature, learning, and community in a sustainable and inclusive outdoor space.

Here are details of a recent Wellbeing & Fun Day

Our Vision

Our vision at Wellbeing at Redbridge Lakes is to be the leading provider of wellness services and products in the region, offering innovative and effective solutions to promote health and well-being.

How It Works

Our Member Organisations (MOs) are a collective of independent charities, small businesses, and dedicated volunteers who share a vision of improving local wellbeing. Together, we run innovative green projects using the unique resources at Redbridge Lakes — a peaceful conservation site nestled in urban Woodford.

Through conservation, education, and community-building, we reconnect people with the healing power of nature. We support a diverse range of individuals and groups, including:

  • Children and families experiencing bereavement
  • People with special educational needs or disabilities
  • Adults and young people living with mental health challenges
  • Elderly residents facing isolation
  • Individuals experiencing homelessness or hardship

Our Vision for the Future

We are creating a vibrant, accessible, nature-based wellbeing hub where:

  • Children and adults learn about bees, nature, food growing, and sustainability
  • SEN students and neurodiverse visitors feel included, supported, and inspired
  • Families experience meaningful time together in safe, natural surroundings
  • Individuals connect with themselves and others through reflection, fitness, and creativity
  • Waste becomes opportunity through our on-site Recycle Shop

WE DON'T SHOUT ABOUT IT, BUT MAYBE IT'S TIME WE DID.

In October 2023 we formed Wellbeing@TheLakes to bring our groups together. With a wealth of professional talent, they share experiences and expertise, their successes and difficulties. They learn from one another, and collectively become more than the sum of their parts.

It is hugely rewarding for us to see the work our groups do, and we are immensely proud that they choose to work at with our friends at Redbridge lakes.
